BACKGROUND

Highlights include The British Boxing Board of Control Southern Area Title at both Welterweight and Middleweight levels. His bouts have been aired on the BBC and Sky Sports and his 2001 contest with Hussain Osman was voted Fight of the Year by Boxing News Magazine.

In 2001 Gary attained Level 1 and 2 strength and conditioning qualifications and his British Board of Control Trainer’s License. In 2003 he coached Cathy ‘The Bitch Brown’ to become the first female champion to be recognised by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Between 2011 and 2014 he was Head Assistant Coach to Adam Booth and his A-list team including David 'The Haymaker' Haye, Mike Perez and World Champions Andy Lee and George Groves.

Throughout his professional career spanning over 20 years he amassed 69 victories from 85 contests. As an amateur boxer he won gold medals at both the 1987 Raufoss European Multi-Nation and 1988 London ABA Welterweight Championships.


In 1988 he turned pro under management of the illustrious Micky Duff. During his professional career he achieved 34 wins and 1 draw from 42 contests.
